It was a single product and flew the first time December 17, 1931 (F-AKCU) but sank into the lake of Berre same year, default design.
It was designed for the charter of letters between Dakar and Natal in Brazil.
Beginning of 1932, it was rebuilt, re-recorded (F-AKGF) and named Southern Cross.
In December 1933, piloted by Lieutenant Commander Bonnot, the unit flew the route Berre-St Louis, Senegal (3680 km) in just over 23 hours.
3 and 4 January 1934, he crossed the South Atlantic to Natal, his return was made in February.
Operations continued in 1935-36, but on 7 December 1936, led by Jean Mermoz and the crew Pichodou Alexandre, Jean Lavidalie Henry Ezan, Edgar Cruvelhier disappeared at sea coast of Dakar.
He was then, 24 crossings to his credit.
It was powered by four Hispano-Suiza 12 CV 650 Ner mounted in tandem, which allowed him to reach 220km / h.
