With almost 3,500 built, the Thunderstreak was the first fighter-bomber to be equipped with swept wings and saw action with 12 countries around the world. Contrary to many of its contemporaries, the F-84F remained in service for a long time; with the first ones becoming operational in 1954, the last were taken out of service in the 1980s.
